WOODSTOCK (Basic knowledge that a music lover should know about )

WOODSTOCKWOODSTOCK '69 - The first Woodstock happened in 1969, Woodstock '69 was a Festival, billed as An Aquarian Exposition, held at Max Yasgur's 600 acres of dairy farmland in the rural town of Bethel (Sullivan County), New York wherein nearly half a million people came over to grace the ocassion, the festival was a 3 days of peace and music from August 15 to August 18, 1969. Thirty-two of the best-known musicans participated in the show, amongst them were - Richie Havens, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, CCR, The Who, Grateful dead, Jefferson Airplane, Richie Havens ect,. Indian personality included Ravi shankar with a set of 5 songs played through the rain. Woodstock has been regarded as one of the greatest moments in the music history. Jimi Hendrix titles were-

WOODSTOCK '79 - Woodstock '79 was a rock concert that took place at Madison Square Garden, New York in 1979, in honor of the 10th Anniversary of the original Woodstock Festival. Some of the musicians of the original festival of 1969 met to celeberate the spirit of freedom of freedom of Woodstock Festival, one amongst them was Richie Havens. There were jam session with Richie Havens, Taj MahalCountry Joe and the Fish, Canned Heat, Jeff "Skunk"Baxter and Elliott Randall. Also appearing were Rick Danko, Cierra and Andy and Paul Butterfield, among others.In 1991 an 80 minute video with the title “The Celebration Continues - Woodstock '79” was publishedSome of the songs songs included in this music festival included - Woodstock Boogie, New York boogie,Here comes the sun, On the road again, Stand, Solid gone etc,.

WOODSTOCK '89 - Woodstock '89 was a rock concert that took place in August 1989 on the site of the original Woodstock concert of 1969 as a spontaneous celebration of the event's 20th anniversary. 30,000 people attended, featuring mainly lesser-known bands. Food and beverages were not sold; participants brought their own supplies.

WOODSTOCK '94 - Woodstock '94 was a music festival organized in order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original Woodstock Festival of 1969. It was promoted as "2 More Days of Peace and Music." The famous poster used to promote the first concert was revised to feature two birds perched on a guitar (instead of one).The concert was scheduled for August 13 and 14 of 1994, but a third day (August 12) was addedThe event took place on a large field in Saugerties, New York, about 100 miles (160 km) north of New York City. . Green Day, who had just made major label success, destroyed the Woodstock 94 Stage after starting a major mud fight while performing the song Paper Lanterns. WOODSTOCK '99 - Woodstock 1999, held July 23-25, 1999 was the second large-scale music festival (after Woodstock '94) that attempted to emulate the success of the original Woodstock Festival of 1969. Like the previous concerts with the same name, it was held in upstate New
York, this time in Rome, New York. Approximately 200,000 people attended the festival.[1] Cable network MTV covered the concert extensively and live coverage of the entire weekend was available on pay-per-view. Excerpts from the performances were later released on compact disc and DVDWoodstock '99 is best remembered for reports of violence, rape, fires, and an abrupt closing down of the show.Police later reported that at least four rapes had occurred during the concert. Seven arrests were made on the final night of the concert &, afterward, policereviewed video footage, hoping to identify and hold accountable looters who, amid the chaos, had not been arrested. Some one-dozen trailers, a small bus and a number of booths and portable toilets were burned in the fray.
