Alobo Naga and the Band is representing India at the MTV EMA awards under the 'BEST WORLDWIDE ACT', please vote the band as your voting will count to bring the laurel home. |

The result of this nomination was declared on Oct 14th ’12. Please find below the list of the bands with their song/music video each and the WINNER in the category.

ALOBO NAGA & THE BAND after winning the BEST INDIAN ACT category is NOMINATED to the second level which is for the “BEST WORLD WIDE ACT AFRICA-INDIA-MIDDLE EAST”, that means three regions will vie for the title, please find below the three bands/artists with their song/music video each in the category.
1) Best African Act: D'Banj for “OLIVER TWIST”
2) Best India Act: Alobo Naga & the Band for “PAINTED DREAMS”
3) Best Middle East Act: Ahmed Soultan “MY JAILER”
WINNER: PENDING (result to be declared on Tuesday, October 30th 2012)
ALOBO NAGA & THE BAND and its two contenders, D'Banj and Ahmed Soultan, the former is a Nigerian singer/ songwriter who is a pioneer in bringing Afrobeat into the 21st century, the latter, reveals himself as the precursor of a new style he likes to call Afrobian Soul for Afro-Arabian. Both are good at what they have been able to deliver at the MTV EMA, and thus, they are contending alongside Alobo Naga & the Band for the title. I, personally, feel Alobo Naga & the Band has an edge over D'Banj and Ahmed Soultan, typically from the music-lyrics-video perspective, Alobo Naga & the Band’s “PAINTED DREAMS” is more chunkier, revived, professional, lyrically strong and the video has a message attached to it; while on the other hand D'Banj’s “OLIVER TWIST” is absolutely a booty shake Afrobeat number, just good enough to make you dance and groove …. Ahmed Soultan’s “MY JAILER” is softer, has good music but regional singing in between. Both the single artists are good, however, Alobo Naga & the Band’s “PAINTED DREAMS” is potentially more creative and has a strong feel to it…. This is where the band might have an upper hand in winning the second level…. My gut feeling says that they will positively win the second level as well.
Post BEST WORLDWIDE ACT ‘AFRICA-INDIA-MIDDLE EAST’ MTV EMA 2012 result; there will be a third level (FINAL) contest for ‘BEST WORLD WIDE ACT’ title and in totality there would be 5 bands/artists from the regions listed below who’d vie for the INTERNATIONAL TITLE.
MTV EMA Frankfurt 2012: Nominees for BEST WORLD WIDE ACT:
1) Winner of Africa/India/Middle East Zone (Pending)
2) Winner of Asia Pacific Zone (Pending)
3) Winner of Europe Zone (Pending)
4) Winner of Latin America Zone (Pending)
5) Winner of North America Zone (Pending)
The third level (Final) competition will be a little tougher, however, with a little support, word-of-mouth reference, sincere prayers and multiple voting’s, we can have this talented band come out with flying colours. Blessings and support is what all ALOBO NAGA AND THE BAND needs this hour. Please continue and vote ALOBO NAGA AND THE BAND to make NAGALAND proud, INDIA proud. God bles!
